I bought 1 to try from my shop. My ceiling is 18 feet tall, so after you hang it by the eyebolt and hook it to the light fixture as well as the light body itself, the actual lights will be about 17 feet tall. I had 400w metal halide bulbs that were almost 20 years old. The luminous flux is almost twice as high, and it's very nice to have the instant-on feature that LEDs have. With the old lanterns, the starting current (transformer) could be heard when switched on. These lights aren't like that, so you feel like you can turn the lights off if you're only out for 30 minutes. Lunch break. I don't really know about the durability as I only installed it for a month. But I liked them so much I only bought 3 so my whole store has new lights. I don't think you can go wrong with that. They appear to be very well built. In summary, I LOVE THESE LIGHTS.!.!.!
