I recently had hip surgery and needed a way to wash my back and shins without violating hip precautions. I found this long-stemmed loofah to be just the ticket. The handle is the perfect length to reach the middle of the back from above and the middle of the bottom with both hands. It is ideal for applying shower gel and washing the shins. The handle is made of wood, so it won't bend like the plastic handles offered in hip replacement kits sold online. The loofah sponge holds the shower gel until the end of the shower and is easy to rinse off. Loofah sponge is also a gentle scrub and is very soft even when dry.
