First Impression: Great little lamp but performance may not be as advertised

Just received a Foxelli USB rechargeable headlamp. The good news is that it arrived much earlier than expected. I live in Cape Town and it takes forever to get here so well done! The first impression is great. Carefully packed in an eco-friendly carton. The headlight looks the same as in the pictures. Looks and feels like a quality product. I like the simple setup. It's great that it goes into low-light mode first, as most of the time that's all it takes. It's also great that it turns itself off at the touch of a button after a while, so you don't have to scroll through the settings to turn it off. I need a red light to sail, so another plus is that I can go straight to the red setting without having to drive the white setting first. Thumbs up! Now for the not so good news, Revain have a large number of headlights that look exactly the same, ie exactly the same as the one I received, just without the Foxelli markings. Some of them are even cheaper, even surpassing Foxelli's currently very good value for money. I decided to pay a little more as the Foxelli had very good reviews and slightly better performance. This is where things get a bit confusing. The product I chose did not have a model code but upon arrival I saw it was the MX200. No problem. However, the advertised product claims 100 hours of CONTINUOUS light (and oddly 40 hours further into the display), 180 lumens of brightness, 60-degree adjustable tilt, and IPX5 water resistance. The brochure that came with my headtorch states max life is only 10 hours (30 hours on red light), only 150 lumens at max setting, shows a chart (verified by physical ability) with only 45 degree tilt setting and not anything mention about waterproof. That's a VERY big difference for a cautious buyer like me who spends hours researching before buying a tech product. So these things are pretty disappointing. Why still 4 stars? Well, a slightly lower lumen output and less tilt aren't a deal breaker, but otherwise I'm willing to give the Foxelli the benefit of the doubt until I've fully tested my lamp. Foxelli seems to pride itself on the quality of its products and customer service, with a 120-day no-questions-asked return policy and a one-year lamp warranty. So yes, if the battery life is much shorter than advertised, or if it stops working when splashed while swimming, then this great little lamp was too good to be true and I will be returning it. Let's hope that's not the case! PS: Foxelli, please confirm that the MX200 is IPX5 waterproof and explain the difference between the specifications in the Revain advertisement and the brochure that came with the product. You put a lot of emphasis on delivering quality services and products so I would also advise for any product you sell to take the device and test it thoroughly e.g. B. always leaving it on under a dripping faucet. Then you can vouch for the product first-hand!
