My child is 3 years old and 1/2 year later he chewed/teared a tear in the tip of his spout. 3 months old and has no signs of wear. I could be wrong but I think they are stronger than the ones that came with the kit. I would buy them again (but I hope I won't need them for a while). I had no trouble installing the mug. Works great like the originals. Edit: Added note that these replacements took a little over a year. I think it's pretty good for everyday use. Also note that my child loves to put his finger in the spout opening when you bite it to drink. I think that's actually what made him cry the most. So if your child doesn't do this, it may take longer.
