I have little to no auto modification experience but I was able to successfully install this on my 2009 Jeep Patriot 2.4. After the installation I noticed some changes. Engine noise: It's like a day/night comparison. The stock filter ran the engine almost to zero, but with the AEM intake it pretty much screams under the gas (2.8 km+ rpm). Sounds so great I had to upload the video to Facebook haha! Anyway, as we said, displacement increases drastically when pretending it's a Jeep SRT8, but other than that it's pretty smooth in normal driving. Performance: I noticed a slight increase in performance but a larger increase in response. Because the engine can breathe faster and cooler, the time it takes to get that power is reduced. Fuel consumption: That's why I wanted to install an intake manifold. My 2009 Jeep Patriot holds 13.5 gallons of fuel. With the stock pickup I was able to max out at around 270 miles. After installing the secondary intake I now get between 300 and 325 miles depending on how I ride it. That was huge for me. Installation Difficulties: If you plan on installing this yourself and know nothing about vehicles, this 45 minute job can turn into 3 hours like it did for me. The hardest part of this setup is removing and replacing the components on the throttle body. I had to bend my arm into the weirdest positions to do it. Be extremely careful not to damage the fragile airflow sensor. Inserting it into the aftermarket system was ridiculous. I don't even know how I did that haha! Just be very patient and careful. Be sure to let the engine cool down before starting work. Is it worth? Absolutely! My Jeep sounds like a beast, behaves like a beast when I want to, but has good gas mileage when I drive it conservatively. Worth every penny and almost paid for. If you don't mind the loud engine, you won't be disappointed!
