Review on πŸ”ͺ 10515 Slice Mini Box Cutter with Ceramic Blade Locking Mechanism, Ambidextrous Keychain Box Opener, Magnetic, 1 Mini Cutter - Secure Blade Position by Linda Diaz

Great idea, bad execution.

Well, it's handy and easily cuts through tape and thick plastic. HOWEVER, it's quite flimsy - the plastic case feels like it will crack if you push it too hard. It looks like a cheap disposable item. I love that you can replace the blade (if you buy another of their expensive blades) but the lock that is supposed to hold the pages together doesn't hold tight and if you're not careful the lock will unlock while you are advance (and sometimes even fly) in the middle of the cut and the blade. So, for the sake of simplicity, you'll have to try to find all the pieces and put the damn thing back together before moving on. To cut 3 more boxes or so I would say a regular box cutter will last longer and make you happier in the long run. You can't use it to cut paper like cardboard itself because it's not sharp enough and you'll end up pulling and tearing. This works well for plastic items (except for the rescue blade mentioned above).

Pros
  • Mini size = fits in the palm of your hand! The perfect cutter to attach to your fridge for all your everyday wrapping/cutting needs. Ideal for unpacking. Cuts with the right or left hand!
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
