Motorola T200TP Like all similar: the whole truth about this product

Good day, dear readers of my reviews. Today I will again have a story about PMR radio stations in the range, which stands for Private Mobile Radio, and can also be found as Personal Mobile Radio, which is basically the same thing. This is one of the three ranges (CB; LPD; PMR), which does not require permission from a special service. Of course, subject to compliance with the permitted power, which, of course, is not observed by almost more than one manufacturer. Only the noble IKOM honors the law. But today it's not about him, but about Motorola, which is also affectionately called "Motor". And right away it needs to be clarified that this is not the "Motorโ€ that was so famous for its excellent performance and reliability, with its head office in America and production facilities in Malaysia. And this is golimy China, with all the consequences. As I already wrote, these radios are in the PMR range, like these ones: Voxtel MR500 radio station, which I already wrote about. Also overestimated power, about 3 watts, instead of 0.5 allowed. A very, very meager menu, but at least it exists and works, if you remember, in those that follow the link, there was no menu at all, there was a button, but there was no menu. I call all such walkie-talkies children's, not at a child's price. They cannot change the stitched frequencies, they usually do not have circuits for repair, this is considered a toy. And they sell well, only for the reason that their operation does not require permission from the Radio Frequency Center. So now for our Chinese Motorola: It looks like this: A small display, as a rule, is always square, it has a minimum of information, as well as a minimum of controls. Everything is specially made for a simple user who does not need to delve into all the subtleties of these options. Appearance is very nice. Sold in two colors, white, as in my case, and black. Convenient size, for comfortable holding in the hand, there are rubber side inserts. On the left side there is a PTT transmit/receive button and below there is a power connector for recharging the radio station. I forgot to take a picture, from the other side, closed under the hatch, headphone jack. Back view. A clip is attached to the middle radio. At the bottom there is a latch for the power compartment cover. Here is the power connector for recharging. Bottom of the radio: Control buttons. Let's dwell on this point in more detail. Top left, with the note icon, is the call button. Below, the button labeled "MON" is a monitor (overview). In the middle, a long button with up and down arrows is the volume control, and when you enter the menu, they also switch the selected menu item On the right, at the top, this is the button for turning on the radio station, and when it is already on, a short press enters the menu. And on the right, at the bottom is the selection button in the menu and blocking the radio buttons. I didnโ€™t like that the lock only works for one session, then you turn it off and on and you need to turn it on again. Open the power supply cover. We see a branded battery, also Chinese. It can be easily removed and charged with ordinary AAA batteries, but AAA batteries are better. A tag with the model of the radio station and the country of manufacture, also a serial number. Battery characteristics. This is the second minus, it is rather weak for a radio station. Only 600 mA. h Around, throughout the radio station, the Motorola logo. We turn on the radio station. I already have them set up, nothing more, just a channel and a tone stand. I barely caught it, for a split second, when you turn on the radio, all the characters on the screen are visible. In order not to write where all the time, I will list from left to right, from top to bottom. Gear indicator. Dual channel search indicator. Search indicator Battery level Channel indicator Number of the selected tone stand (under him) Timer on indicator Auto off indicator. Volume indicator VOX indicator (voice control) Call indicator Button lock indicator (except for the transfer button). This is how the timer setting mode in the menu looks like. Power supply or adapter, as you like. Only for recharging the radio station. Cannot be used while transferring. Its characteristics: connector. The block is heavy, which means transformer, this is a plus. Radio stations do not like impulse blocks. Now very briefly and in my own words according to its characteristics: Eight channels of PMR range. One hundred twenty-one tone stand (there are both analog and digital). Channel scanning. Voice control In all instructions, the allowed 0.5 watts are declared, in fact, much more. At the same time, a radio communication range of 6 km is indicated. Half a watt is unrealistic. But even at its output of 3 watts, six kilometers depends on where, in an open field, and even if you stand on a hill, then probably yes. In the city, I checked with a friend on a 5-watt walkie-talkie, we got a connection of only two kilometers, and moreover, this was in the private sector. You can argue a lot about this, but I just gave you my experiment. Who has what and how I'm not interested. I am ready to answer any of your questions, about radio stations or about radio communications in general, in the comments. Thank you for taking your time to read my review. The price is for a set of two radios.
