I'll add photos later but my brothers and I had an extensive record collecting period as teenagers from the late 70's to the 80's. Most of these were played on tape once and then resealed. Of the 635 albums I own, most come in original shrink wrap with promotional stickers and prices! It's better to remove the shrink wrap for archival purposes, but I can't do that if the recording was accompanied by a special promotional copy. I usually take the record out of the inner sleeve (throw away if it's unprinted / leave it on if it has artwork or lyrics etc.) and replace it (Mobile Fidelity) with an inner sleeve made from archival quality MOFI rice paper. However, as an OUTER envelope, it is the best and also the least expensive. Why? First, MOFI's outer shells are not sealed. They work as advertised and are a bit thicker, but I like the idea of sealing out potential bugs and dust that self-sealing cases offer. Second, they've cleverly placed the tape on the cover rather than the flap, so there's no chance of the record's vinyl surface accidentally sticking to the cover during removal or replacement. Third, the material is transparent, glossy, and durable, and easily accommodates single or double edition albums. Not too big, not too tight. Of all the ones I've tried, these are by far my favorites!
