update. Your amazing software strikes again and I can't use it as a network drive on a windows system either. I wanted to move this drive from my Mac to my router. To do this, I had to uninstall the pesky, ingrained software that WD had installed on the drive. To uninstall this software I had to update the firmware, then download custom uninstall software and follow their process (simple reformatting won't remove the crap). So I do a firmware update. The disk never works again. I tried going to WD to see what they can do and then I realized how painful it is to speak to someone who has English as a second language and slowly a step by step process to go through that he doesn't understand and it wasn't worth $100 or how much did I pay for the item? WD has lost a customer and will hopefully lose more than 1 through this review. The security software wasn't impressive enough to justify all the difficulties experienced while using this drive as a normal drive. Then the fact that the company's firmware caused the hard drive to become garbage now can only be frustrating.
