I have a five year old and I sent him to school in new shoes only to come back with shoes that looked like a rabid dog had fed them. These are usually lightweight canvas shoes with double velcro - for some reason they don't last all day. I usually spend about twenty dollars on a pair of shoes. Realizing that I really don't want to spend much more because buying shoes for this kid is the equivalent of burning twenty-dollar bills. So I didn't have high or low expectations when I chose these shoes. I just thought they were down and we would move on. We've had these shoes for over a month now and I absolutely love them. They held up incredibly well! I love how this shoe goes with jeans, joggers, sweatpants and shorts. My kid says they are comfortable and fit well. They are easy to put on and take off. The single Velcro tongue is strong and secure, the material camouflages dirt well, and the rubber outsole is durable. Shoes are not very light, but they are not heavy either. You can tell that most of the weight comes from the rubber outsole. When these shoes have served their purpose and need to be replaced, I will buy this model again.
