My only warning about the product is that the ball at the end of the pull chain is pretty strong and the pull mechanism is very springy. I'm worried that a cord that's pulled too tight will come back and crack the bulb. .So edit the review to add: Yes indeed if you pull the cord it comes back pretty quickly and breaks the Cree LED bulb. I replace it with another Cree LED bulb, but the new ones have a plastic case. I wouldn't recommend this for use with CFLs as there can be mercury splashes anywhere. I went ahead and cut off the heavy bead on the end and bought a longer chain from my local hardware store for less than a dollar. The product still works great and I will admit that it is my fault for pulling it too hard and too fast because not only did I have in mind a prior warning should you do the same, I was consciously trying to Not doing this but one day I forgot to say goodbye and boom $10 lightbulb for now (actually converted to a short lightbulb in an enclosed fixture after removing the glass and isolating the rest of the fixture without LEDs, but I digress)
