When I received these headphones, the AAA batteries that came with them didn't last more than a minute, even after 24 hours of charging. However, they work with a pair of new, non-rechargeable AAA batteries. After reading the user manual, I learned that the factory supplies rechargeable AAA batteries that power the headphones and are Sony property. They cannot be replaced by conventional batteries. If you need to replace them due to charging issues, you need to buy them from Sony. When I went to the Sony website to find a supplier, their website didn't recognize the model number of these headphones. I really don't think those "Sony batteries" are the only AAA batteries that can be used in these headphones. Even if that were the case, does anyone really think they can replace them in a year or two? This is pure "built-in deprecation" and one of the reasons I brought it back.
