Review on Tripp Lite Industrial Protector TLM609SA by Mike Larkin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Same protection in a different form factor

In 2011 I bought a Tripp Lite TLM825SA 120v metal cable with 8 outlets, 25 feet OSHA surge protection, which still works. A few months old I bought another one and recently bought a pair of these. That alone should tell you how happy I am with the brand. It is reliable protection, both physical and electrical. I live in Central Florida which is notorious for power issues so the lack of properly designed protection can result in a disaster which given my investment in the protected equipment can be very costly. The main reason I have so many is because I'm a musician who has amps, a speaker system and keyboards, and in many places the performance is marginal at best. It's inexpensive protection, and I've seen other musicians' gear get fried in the same places I play, so I know these surge suppressors work. My combined experience with these two models did not lead to any problems. This is professional gear designed to protect your gear and last longer when properly cared for and used properly. I would like to point out that I use a rule of thumb not to overload protected extension cords. If you do this, you will lose the protection it offers. Please keep this in mind and read the specifications when making a purchasing decision. If the devices you want to connect exceed the ratings on this product page, this is not an option for you.
