3 months ?!? Really

I bought this in early September and it broke for Christmas. There were never more than two kitchen appliances running at the same time. Basically a coffee maker and a blender. When it worked I reset it and the light came back on. Electrical devices, however, received no power. I usually only use it once a day so it hasn't really been used more than say 130 times. However, it has already burned down. Very disappointing. Contacting the manufacturer is also a very unpleasant experience. The form…

Good surge protector, poor switch placement, consumes 1/3 watt without a plug?!

I bought this surge protector to replace a similar (store bought) extension cord that was showing signs of age. Based on my week's use and testing, here's my rating of this product: Pros: Very well placed grounded outlets. Pros: Nicely designed and shaped cable/connector. Pros: Ability to manage your own cable. Advantages: Illuminated operating display. .Con: Consumes 1/3 watt of power when unplugged. When I have time I will open up this device and see what circuitry inside is causing this. Too

Rugged, powerful - works and is designed for heavy use

Made of metal. Safer, more resilient. Update: I've had several over the years. Everything is working well. Strong and muscular. I removed the plastic ears from one of these to suit my application. It was relatively easy to make, yet it was a solid extension cord in a metal case. (The plastic ears are also strong and chunky, adding extra protection.) As for the portable power strip, I can say that it's probably the best I've had. But it is also a network filter. My knowledge of electronics gives

Same protection in a different form factor

In 2011 I bought a Tripp Lite TLM825SA 120v metal cable with 8 outlets, 25 feet OSHA surge protection, which still works. A few months old I bought another one and recently bought a pair of these. That alone should tell you how happy I am with the brand. It is reliable protection, both physical and electrical. I live in Central Florida which is notorious for power issues so the lack of properly designed protection can result in a disaster which given my investment in the protected equipment can
