Review on Tripp Lite Industrial Protector TLM609SA by Sherman Lancaster

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good surge protector, poor switch placement, consumes 1/3 watt without a plug?!

I bought this surge protector to replace a similar (store bought) extension cord that was showing signs of age. Based on my week's use and testing, here's my rating of this product: Pros: Very well placed grounded outlets. Pros: Nicely designed and shaped cable/connector. Pros: Ability to manage your own cable. Advantages: Illuminated operating display. .Con: Consumes 1/3 watt of power when unplugged. When I have time I will open up this device and see what circuitry inside is causing this. Too much parasitic boost in my opinion. Cons: The power button isn't recessed far enough. Hitting this strip face down on the concrete will make the switch click (at best) or snap (worst). The switch sticks out about 3/32 of an inch above the case by my estimates. Meh': The strip contains these plastic covers for unused sockets. I would be fine without her. I took them out and tossed them to them. Garbage within minutes of unpacking.
