Great for Edison LEDs and works great for dimming
I installed four Edison LEDs and am very satisfied. I think any LED will work just fine but I liked the look of the Edison and wanted good light output so this was a way to put 4 8 watt bulbs in a socket and get over 1600 lumens from the largest LED bulb , which I haven't found anything else (which I didn't like visually). I also use them on a dimmer and have no problem dimming all 4 bulbs. If you're using incandescent bulbs I can see this thing getting hot and it would probably be impractical to use more than 4 40w bulbs. It's actually an LED, although with so many options these days it's hard to find a reason not to even factor in the cost.
