The size is perfect for many things - a bag of coffee, chocolate chips, nuts and more. They fit very well and are very attractive. The glass is thin enough to offer full transparency, which I really like. The lids are tight enough to keep moisture (and other nasties) out, but not so tight that they're difficult to remove. Four stars instead of five because the second or third time I removed one of the lids the bamboo cracked from the bottom instead of all the way through. I threw it back, I wanted to glue it later but I didn't have to, it's holding up well, you don't even see where it was.
