I bought this printer because the ink doesn't dry out. I usually print in small batches with a gap of 6 months or more between print runs. This system costs me less per print in the long run because the ink doesn't dry out compared to an inkjet printer. I am very impressed with the quality of the prints! Canon excelled here, and this is where it counts. Colors are vibrant yet natural, and detail is excellent. Photos come out clear. An impressive feature of this printer is the built-in printer settings. I used my Nikon D3100 to photograph a friend's newborn baby. I then put the SD card in the Selphy and found that the baby was too pink due to incorrect camera settings. No problem, because Selphy has a printer preference, a My Colors preference. I switched it to neutral and the pink skin took on a natural creamy hue without bleaching the bright blue of his baby clothes. Incidentally, this is the setting that can be adjusted on a Canon camera to achieve natural skin tones, and it's great that Canon has incorporated this technology into this printer. to print from my computer unless I'm doing major editing or cropping. The Selphy doesn't come with a cable to connect it to a PC, but it's a standard USB 2.0 cable and I happen to have an extra one. I didn't touch the CD that came with it. Instead, I downloaded the latest drivers (drivers only, no software) directly from Canon. Easy to install and works great with my Windows 7 PC. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase!
