Review on Renogy 175W 12V High-Efficiency Monocrystalline Solar Panel - Ideal For RV, Marine, Rooftop, Farm, Battery, And Off-Grid Applications by Danelle Gilson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Produces about 60% of rated output

As you can see, I positioned the panel directly to the sun and, as you can see i screenshot time stamp, it’s right at midday sun. Not a cloud in the sky. It’s 105° day here in Phoenix. I’m running the Renogy mono 175w panel through a Renogy DC-DC controller with MPPT. On paper, this is an ideal set up and conditions. My results? Most I could get was about 100 watts and maxed out at 6.05 amps. Spec sheet says it should max at 9.75 amps and, of course, 175 watts. Now, I get there may be some loss through the 30’ of Renogy cables but 40% loss?! Garbage. I gave it two stars because at least it’s functional. It’s just HIGHLY over rated for what it produces.
