Works to boot my system. It's most likely a Dell copy but it's cheap so 5* anyway. I say it's probably fake as it comes with adapters and the plug is really patchy even in a Dell outlet as others have said. I wanted to see if I could get into my socket and adjust the pinch points to see if it would grip a little tighter so it wouldn't slip out. Other than that, yes it works and it's cheap to keep my old Dell under budget so what more could I ask for. Oh yes, a good and long cable, even compared to the originals, so buy it overall. Since whoever speaks of melted must be their electrical system as if your house were properly wired to North American code, the breakers will work. long before as they detect changes in flow, short circuits and automatic opening and closing, so I'm not worried.
