Review on FT1187 Internal Transmission Cartridge Filter by Don Acevedo

I changed the automatic transmission fluid myself for my 2001 Audi A6 using this filter kit. It comes with a filter, filter gasket and oil pan gasket. No instructions, minimal packaging. However, the item arrives in good condition and serves its purpose. Most importantly the filter looks decent, not thick but double layered so it should be up to the task. The oil pan gasket is a paper gasket - a bit cheap but does the job. The filter fits my car in shape and size and I can easily replace it. In summary, I would say that this is a cost-effective solution for changing the oil in your car's automatic transmission and will extend the life of your car's transmission. For under $20 including shipping, FRAM is hard to beat. FYI this was my first oil change so I would argue that as long as you have an Audi service manual you don't really need a manual from FRAM.
