This raincoat is so cute! The rain cover is made from lightweight, umbrella-like nylon with a secure Velcro closure. Well sewn; the seams fit / and even without protruding threads hanging around everywhere. It's cozy but fits well. The rain hat is made of the same material and fits well on the doll's head. The white t-shirt fits perfectly and is made of thick cotton. Well made, as are the jeans (elastic waistband with 2 side pockets and 2 back pockets) with slightly narrower legs (waisted). This outfit fits my American Girl doll up to the "T" as shown in the picture. Umbrella absolutely working and charming. It doesn't have a strap to keep it closed or a sleeve to store it like a life-size umbrella, and a 5-year-old may need help opening it fully (metal spokes and a heavier metal shaft with a clasp that snaps in) . hold open and release to close, a little hard to press), but that's ok, mom can help. This is also similar to PU nylon umbrella material. Boots . very stylish but a bit thin. My 8 year old granddaughter had a bit of trouble tugging at one of these (they are a bit tight and don't have holes in the back so they can flex a bit and they are soft/foldable as they stretch) made of glossy polyurethane material something like oilcloths but they are serviceable and really complete and complement this little outfit. In general I was satisfied!
