Wear a lot of Olukai and wanted to see if there could be similar but less expensive alternatives. I don't expect them to be the same quality, but at $30 vs $90 for the Olukai, be prepared for some differences. The material quality, the design and the comfort of the sole are really good. Well made from quality materials, with good fit and finish. Fit was really good out of the box (actually a bag). Love the color and the solid outsole, we had some wet snow/ice the day I put them on and they gave good traction. The problem, as mentioned in some other reviews, is heel chafing. The top, next to the back of the Achilles tendon, is really hard and tight. Even in socks it is noticeable and uncomfortable. It hurts to wear them without socks. I thought if I put them in the office all day in normal clothes they would weaken. You are not. They may appear eventually, but for the foreseeable future they will need to be worn with a fairly thick sock to avoid blisters. This was pretty much the only downside, but if you're looking for weekend boat shoes to wear while lounging, wearing socks kills the mood. They are of sufficient quality and look like they could be paired with jeans and even good slacks. I'm glad they can compete with my everyday slip ons for work and everyday use, just not the best option for parties/holidays/weekend drinking.
