Review on Sturdy Hardwood Thread Rack - Holds 60 Spools & Mini-King Size Cones For Sewing, Embroidery, Quilting & More! by Gary Revils

Brand specific to the embroidery it shows, not meant for cones but cylinders

I was searching for a spool cone holder for serger thread not sewing thread or embroidery thread and sadly this doesn’t fit the spool cones well but does serve the purpose for the time being at this cost. The wooden dowels aren’t spread out far enough to accommodate a full spool for my type of thread. If I put my embroidery thread on this rack they don’t even fit. The first thread hits the frame preventing it from sitting flush against the bottom rack. I added a couple different sizes for comparison but they overlap so you’d likely have to take several off to get to what you wanted on the normal brand I buy.A couple dowels on mine although packaged well to ship, were broken. If the serger thread has been used it will fit but you have to shove it in there upside down. Due to the packed tight fit I’m unable to use several dowels. It’s better designed for embroidery thread which I think after reviewing the listing that’s the intended use but is specific to the brand the listing shows.I feel the title is misleading which is why I purchased it for the "spool cone holder”. Embroidery thread doesn’t use a cone but a cylinder. It needs a rather large span to use standing. I have mine on the floor as the weight is too heavy to hang comfortably on the wall. I did have it on a table but the more I added the wider the frame stance got. On the floor I have it at 16 inches x 16 inches.
