This is fine if you still want to connect your laptop to the power adapter. The use case really involves connecting many peripherals to your laptop, such as: B. a wired mouse, a wired keyboard and a printer. Since you can already connect a monitor to your laptop, this would be useful for someone with multiple monitors (there are workarounds here - think DVI + DisplayLink monitor over USB, which is possible without this device). However, with many moving to wireless or Bluetooth, the utility isn't as big as it could be. Also video adapters: DVI (with white connector), VGA (via DVI adapter), DisplayPort and USB. No HDMI unless you buy an adapter or converter cable.
