This motion sensor goes haywire when you're working or cleaning right in front of it. But we were not at all concerned when my grandmother, who has dementia, tries to get out of bed. She's on the other side of a very small bedroom (just 6 feet from the device) and doesn't ring the bell day or night when she moves. UPDATE: It still sounds seldom when she's sitting. in bed, which is uncomfortable and risky, but also randomly unsettling when nothing happens. So it doesn't bother me if she's up most of the time and I wake up unnecessarily when I could be trying to rest after a hard day of dementia care.
