They did exactly what you would expect from a technology product: 1. They were partially charged so you didn't have to wait all night to see if the product worked2. They were easy to connect to Bluetooth with no special instructions. If you've used Bluetooth before, it's exactly the same.3. The wired connection worked fine on phone, tablet and PC4. Ideal for a 9 year old, easy to set up without parental help. Can be folded up easily. Although some reviewers claim that their lights either don't light up or only partially light up, we didn't find that to be the case. Remember that they work like an audio graphic equalizer. So if you're watching a TV show, they're probably never going to glow brighter than blue, as the sound is pretty basic. Clearer sounds like music with treble, bass and percussion are fully illuminated.
