Review on 💻 Acer Swift 3 SF314-54-56L8: 14" Full HD, Intel Core i5-8250U, 8GB DDR4, 256GB SSD, Windows 10, Silver by Mark Walsh

Like the other reviewer, I got a black screen after about 3 weeks of light use. Revain tech support was completely useless and it took forever for me to contact Acer tech support so I decided to return it as I was still within the 30 day window. I've researched quite a bit online about the black screen issue and this seems to be a common problem with Acer devices. Either the monitor drivers are messed up, or the bit that 'connects' the monitor part to the laptop is broken. In no way did I want to jeopardize the guarantee of something that was likely to happen again. While the machine was running it was fine, but the battery life was definitely less than 12 hours, and while it had an SSD, I didn't notice that it was particularly fast, especially given that it was new and almost no data /Programs/ Documents on it. All in all unfortunately a disappointment. I chose Acer because I have had an Acer Chromebook for over 5 years and it still works, but now I doubt my commitment to this brand.
