Let me start by saying that all this information was obtained with the device in a 2011 Mercedes C300 with an Android phone with the latest Android updates. UPDATE: Most of the connection reliability issues (cons 1 & 2) seem to be related to the phone's ability to connect via Bluetooth. As soon as you disable this in the Bluetooth settings, the connection stabilizes. However, this doesn't fix persistent or persistent reconnect issues, so I'll be returning this junk anyway. Bought another brand for a third of the price. It uses an AUX input instead of the iPod interface, but it has NONE of the problems. Cons: 1) It cuts the LAN connection to the car 2-3 times per hour. The car randomly says "no connected device". The time it takes to reconnect varies from 10 to 45 seconds. When this happens, the music pauses. 2) It also randomly disconnects with phones via Bluetooth. That happens a lot more often. 5-10 times per hour. In this case, the music will be interrupted. 3) It never turns off when the machine is off. That creates all sorts of problems. When I want to use my headset around the car, I have to tediously disconnect and reconnect it to cover the car to play music. Or if I get too close to my car, it suddenly streams the music into my car where the stereo isn't even on, and then when it turns off, it pauses. This is very stupid as he knows when the machine is off. When I turn off the car, it sends a signal to pause the music. So why leave Bluetooth active when it's causing crashes? I also assume that this is parasitically draining your battery if you don't drive for a few weeks. 4) If you look in bluetooth settings, this device is constantly idle and wakes up every few seconds. This makes it impossible to use my headset to make phone calls while driving. This is because every time the phone goes from idle to active it thinks it's the last Bluetooth device connected, causing it to transfer the call back to the car. You can try toggling it again and again and you might only get a second or two before it toggles again. I have NEVER experienced this with any other car, headset or phone. This is a big trap for me as sometimes I need some privacy while on the phone in the car. You can disable the phone function for this Bluetooth device in the settings to prevent this, but why do you have to disable half of the device's functions for it to work properly? 5) You CANNOT pause music playback with this device. At least not from a phone (I don't have a native way to pause music in my car). This only pauses the song for about 5 seconds before constantly updating the connection causes it to play again. So your only option is to turn off your stereo. 6) As stated in the description, track information only works with iDevices. This seems silly to me as the device is still getting the info from your phone and while the car can only interpret the iPhone's track info, the device could very well translate it to where the car can read it. It should be serviced at three times the price. 7) When you start your car for the first time, there is about a 50% chance that your music will start automatically. This also applies if it is reconnected after disconnecting from the car. On the other hand, it never starts by itself after completely disconnecting and reconnecting the Bluetooth connection. 8) Cost and Functionality. The number of failures this device has is what I would expect from a $15 fake made in China, not a device that costs three times the price of similar devices. The only reason I paid triple that was for the ability to change lanes from my steering wheel. But when it comes to manually restarting my music 10 times an hour and disabling phone features to avoid these issues, I'm happy to "fall back" to a device that's a third the cost and just go back to swiping gestures. change songs. Pros 1) It plays music via Bluetooth for cars that didn't come with native Bluetooth enabled music. 2) You can use your own stereo controls to control music playback on your phone. other devices do not support it. 3) It can support phone calls where other devices cannot. However, this is not needed in my device as it natively supports phone calls.
