This is a beautiful piece of furniture with a mid-century modern look and is quite solid. I need a smaller tray for the inside, about 14" x 22". The instructions are mostly correct. Steps 3 and 4 are wrong, instead of the wooden pieces that should be in those places, there should be metal pieces with a mini fix. Along the way, they align with the mini sheath/circle fasteners to hold the sides tightly together. I agree that it was necessary to pre-drill several holes in several steps. For example, there weren't any pre-drilled holes in the legs, so I just decided where to place them. I had to open up the aforementioned wooden pieces to insert the matching metal mini brackets, which was excruciating. I have a lot of experience in assembling things, I don't know how a beginner should handle it. For such a good item at such a high price, why can't they improve the directions? But overall I'm very satisfied. Let's see how the cats like it!
