Review on ๐Ÿšด Giro Stylus Men's Road Cycling Shoes: Performance and Style Combined by Ryan Bennett

Revainrating 4 out of 5

4.5 * Very good but needs revision

I bought these shoes for my new Peloton with the intention of using them on a road bike in the future. They walk a little tight. I was worried I would have to go a half size up when I first got them. As a veteran of breaking hockey skates, I decided to use them for a while and I'm glad I did. I replaced the stock Peloton pedals with Shimano pedals so my wife could use her shoes on the bike. . Giros can handle both and that's one of the reasons I bought them. I tried Deltas first and they were fine. I'm too new to this to notice the difference between the two types of clips. I noticed that for the first three weeks before EVERY ride I had to tighten the cleats on my boots. I thought maybe there was something wrong with the receivers on the shoes, but after three weeks they wouldn't budge. I still check before every ride but haven't had any problems in the last two weeks. I don't have wide feet, but the shoes are a bit narrow at the balls of the feet. Using them for an hour a day basically solved this problem for me. In general, I would say that the shoes run small. I bought the same size I usually buy for shoes and wish I was half a size bigger. I think it would give my toes some room to wiggle without making the shoe look sloppy on my feet. It is impossible to know without trying. In general I am very happy with them. I'm a tall guy and the stiffness of the sole annoyed me a bit. I've done a couple of climbs from the saddle where I'm really pushing and I can feel the sole holding under my foot. There is no flex at all. I don't feel like I'm wasting energy switching from foot to pedal. I am very happy with the performance. Of course, I'm new here, so take it for granted. I've been riding in these shoes for about an hour a day for the last 5 weeks. They only got better when they got hacked and I understand them better. They may not have been beginner shoes, but I'm happy with them. I bought the Giro because of its reputation for quality cycling gear and I wasn't disappointed.
