Concerns about the blade steel on Oerla TAC WS-0018
I own many Oerla blades both fixed and folders. I have many D2 and 8Cr steel. This is my first 420hc which is used extensively in Buck knives.Here is the problem, I change the edge profile on blades I buy and collect. This blade , which is supposed to be 420hc is SOFT, like 440A or less. I'm going to finish the blade edge and then try to find someone in Northern Arizona AZ University to get a take on the steel.But is is SOFT!
- Love it great knife very sharp
- May not hold an edge as well as other high-end knives
