I chose this product because I liked that it combined magnetic tiles with a toy train set. My son is 20 months old and this is a good toy for him because it is very exciting but also offers him new challenges. I was pleasantly surprised that the octagons could be written on with stickers with letters and corresponding images of the objects. I didn't expect it to have an alphabetical component as well. The only downside to the design is that there are 26 letters in the alphabet, but not all of the 26 octagons were designed to be used with stickers, and there are fewer than 26 magnetic tiles that actually use octagons, so you'll end up not using them .
