I have been using this head for many years. I first had one from my previous employer and when I went there to work for myself I bought it again. We actually had several of them at my employer. We had one that broke after a fall but we sent it in for repair and it was fine again. I can't find another head on the market with a gear that is even remotely inferior in quality. Stay away from the professional head, we also had one at my work and it wasn't as good as this one, just a lot bigger and more difficult to use. It's great and my only complaint is that the head wobbles a bit. Everyone I've used works the same way. To be clear these are 4 of these heads that I have used that have the same problem. It does not affect the photography. This was an issue when I had the slider mounted on a video tripod and it wobbled a bit when pushed, but it was tough on video. I couldn't find a solution, so I couldn't use the slider for that head. I wish they would post a fix for this gem because then it would be a 5 star head.
