I recently bought this product to remove odors in the bedroom and living room. The device works quietly and is ideal for small, closed rooms. Air quality improves after several cycles. (Just don't breathe right next to the outlet or you'll get nauseous.) Like other reviewers, my only comment is that the manual explains this device pretty well, so I'll try to simplify it here :) For those who are interested , a small square on the left side of the display indicates which mode it is in, the toilet or the room. The large numbers to the right of this are a two-digit minute counter that shows when the current cycle ends. The bottom indicators are for performance, motion sensor (auto), and fan speed: low (natural), medium (comfort), and high (strong). Simply put, there are 3 modes available: Toilet, Room and Manual. After power on, it works in automatic toilet mode. Judging by the instructions, the "Toiletโ and "Roomโ modes are essentially the same, just different default fan speeds โ medium and low, respectively. In automatic toilet/room mode, the ionizer and ozone generator operate in 2-minute on/off cycles indefinitely until the sensor detects movement. In this mode you can also change the speed temporarily for a duty cycle (2 minutes) by pressing the "Setting" button and selecting a different speed. (Useful if you just want to get some fresh air). According to the manual, when there is no more movement in automatic mode, it goes into standby or "idle" mode for up to 2 hours and then automatically performs 3 work cycles. This pattern is repeated to maintain air quality when the room is empty or 'unattended'.*** This isn't covered in the manual, but to switch to 'true' manual mode you must first press 'Auto'. The auto indicator will disappear, indicating that the motion sensor is disabled. (If you don't exit auto mode first, it will revert to the default fan speed after one cycle and turn off if there is no movement.) You can then use the 'Setting' button to select your desired fan speed. However, duty cycles still apply - 2 minutes on/2 minutes off. (only applies to the ionizer/ozone generator; the fan runs continuously). This is necessary to prevent harmful ozone formation in closed rooms. The first picture shows the settings I use for manual mode and it hasn't been turned off for many hours. Hope this review helps others.
