I have been using my Mag-Float for several years and have recently found that the inner seal needs to be replaced after sand has built up in it over time. This is a good replacement, but the replacement process is complicated. I was almost ready to go and just buy another magnet. I have yet to find an easy way to remove the super sticky adhesive from the magnet before installing the new pads. It took a lot of work, but it worked out in the end. The inner lining of the tank does a good job of keeping algae off the glass, but the outer lining needs improvement. It does not cover the entire magnet and leaves streaks when used. I solved this problem by putting a very thin piece of fleece between the outer glass and the magnet and it comes in handy when I need to buff out water stains on the glass.
