I bought this product for a crib to soften the mattress. The mattress alone seemed too hard and while I understand this may be due to pediatric recommendations, my son kept waking up without a soft bed/pad to lie on. I didn't feel comfortable leaving him in the cradle with a thicker blanket underneath when he slept, so I started looking for other solutions. It made no sense for me to put on multiple sheets as they didn't add any extra comfort. I went ahead and bought this and so far so good. It's well padded and my little one sleeps through the night. While it soaks up liquids and does its job, it also provides the extra comfort my little one needs to get a good night's sleep on what was once a firm cradle mattress.
