I find it amazing that no manufacturer has come out with a "perfect toaster". This block is average at best. I mainly use this toaster for bagels. The fins are medium wide, but if you slice the bagel unevenly (one side is thicker), you'll have trouble getting the toasted bagel out. Another problem is not throwing the toast high enough. The external service has many hotspots, so you have to be careful when handling the device afterwards. Other toasters have a barrier for better heat dissipation. Not this unit. For the price, it's okay for a hostel or a second toaster if you have to prepare for multiple guests.
