Apparently I'm not the first owner. After we set fire to another brand's power strip I did some research and decided to buy six of these Tripp Lite power strips because once they stop protecting they won't work (instead of the light just going out) . They are quite large and have phone jacks which we don't need, but security was my main concern. When I was ready to replace all of our existing extension cords I began pulling them out of their boxes and was dismayed to see that each one had small scuffs and dirt specs, sure signs of having been used and returned . I would have sent them back myself, but the "grace period" for returns ended, which taught me not to wait that long before carefully inspecting a delivered purchase! I hope they continue to do so. I just hope they were returned because of their size and not performance issues!
