I bought it for my family especially my kid. He doesn't like the traditional thermometer and can't hold it in his armpit for about 10 seconds. This thermometer is easy to use. It takes some time to figure out how to use it: turn on the button - press it again and hold - touch your forehead - release the button, but don't move the meter - until you hear a beep. That's all. The temperature is shown on the screen with a color display. The whole process takes less than 3 seconds before the child notices. I picked several points to measure the pace and the numbers were pretty stable.
