I bought this brand because we have a had a much older version - over 10 years old - of this one. (Our original model didn't have the big chopper bowls, it was just a small chopper, whisk and dipstick.) After reading the reviews we decided to upgrade to this model. The first thing we noticed was that the blade shaft is hollow at the bottom of both the small bowl and the large chopping bowl. Food gets stuck there and it's hard to clean. When first turned on, the starting power seems to grab the plastic insert in the lid too quickly, causing it to rattle and rub the plastic. He completely grounded the inside of the lid at the transition to the blade shaft so that the top no longer sits in the lid. The power of the stick itself is very strong and it does a great job as a hand blender, but the small portion of the chopping bowl is useless now.
