Too salty. It had my 2 year old miniature drinking water in it after she ate less than half a handful. She likes the smell of fish oil, so she quickly swallowed it. The smell is really light. I added warm water, a tablespoon of pumpkin because I had tried another food, a tablespoon of plain Greek yogurt for calcium. Fish food is high in protein but low in calcium for their bones, powdered flaxseed, and a tablespoon of olive oil to keep their coat shiny. She regularly receives all products. She has allergies and has tried different foods to stop the itching. I found out the queen is allergic to chicken which she loves. It usually tolerates salmon fish oil. I saw this at Pet Supply Plus but it was more expensive and only came in a carry case. Revain in the three smaller sizes is still $37 for a 13.5 pound bag, but the Queen is a small dog. Small dog food has small nuggets that she liked from day one. The next day her queen would not eat without warm water in her meal. She doesn't get anything else until she eats what's in the bowl, which she finally did at 6 p.m. when it was time for her dinner. I have old ideas, and all day long I don't get cold shoulders rubbed at me. She remembered that I was the leader of the mother pack and happily ate ALL of her food. Drink water before I get a bowl of water because she wanted to pee. So we've both learned a few things about the food she loves so far. The itching has subsided a bit. Which made me whine. The time will show. Zignature good food just doesn't like all that salt used as a preservative to kill any remaining bacteria. If it slows down her constant licking of her feet, rubbing of her face, scratching of her sides and vet bills for gross body, liver and kidney-destroying itchy chemicals. Please read/research medication side effects. Stops itching for a while but increases liver enzymes. I'll use food for a while, at least get the bag ready. Keep searching and mixing foods without a lot of salt.
