Review on 🌞 ALLPOWERS 18V 12V 5W Portable Solar Panel Battery Charger for Car, Boat, Motorcycle, RV Batteries by Anthony Grover

Does the job so far! Read this to know what you're getting.

I was a little skeptical after reading other reviews so I did some testing. Hope my results are helpful. My situation is that I am retired, have 2 cars and don't have to drive much. But it seemed that every time the weather turned bad the four-wheel drive car's battery died, and every time the weather turned good the rag roof ran out of power. Not only is it very painful to unplug the charger, it's also very bad for the batteries when they're dead. So I decided to take one of these and if it works, buy a second one so I don't have to switch it between machines. After a few months of use and a little testing I can tell you the following: 1) Don't expect this to charge a dead battery. Not intended and will not be. It compensates for the natural losses in the battery and the minimal discharge the vehicle can have when it is switched off due to things like the computer, security system, etc. There is an isolation diode in the solar panel to prevent reverse current. drain regardless of whether you use a cigarette lighter or a cable with a clip. 2) The red LED on the cigarette lighter plug is your friend if you know how to use it. a) Connect the cigarette lighter plug to the solar panel but not to the cigarette lighter socket. Point the panel towards the sun and make sure the LED lights up, then point it away from the sun and it goes out. This proves that the panel is generating electricity. b) Unplug the cigarette lighter plug from the solar panel and plug it into the cigarette lighter socket with the ignition off. Make sure the LED is on. This proves that the socket is running with the key disabled. c) Connect the cigarette lighter cable to the panel and mount the panel on the dash, windshield or (my preference) passenger visor which can be rotated to better catch the sun depending on how you park. Protect the panel from the elements; This is not a call panel.3) DO NOT unplug while driving, just rotate it so as not to obstruct your view. The isolation diode protects the panel and the car from each other, no matter the car is driving or not. Frequently turning the cigarette lighter on and off increases the likelihood of a bad contact in the socket. If you need to disconnect, do so at the end of the panel and make sure the LED is lit before reconnecting. If you ever feel this failed, repeat the tests in step 2 above. If you do the above, you'll find that it does what you need it to do and does it well. Hopefully this will also fill in the gaps in the instructions.
