The motor makes a little more noise than the original - nothing I'm not likely to notice anymore. The color and structure on the outside are very close to the original. It works just like the original (didn't try the thaw). Note: You do not have to remove the entire door inner panel to install this. You can unzip the corner near the mirror and continue working from there. It's been a few weeks since I installed this, so I don't remember exactly what the install was all about. However, I recommend starting loosening the fasteners in the corner next to the mirror instead of loosening all fasteners.
