Always stays curved, but works great if you keep that in mind.

I used it to move the battery in the trunk of my Nissan 240sx. They worked great and were the perfect size. I had a few minor complaints. I used to buy various cables from WindyNation. They aren't quite the same as the others I've bought. They are stiffer and have a tighter curve. No matter what I tried, the wire didn't take a more direct route. It wasn't a big problem for me, but I had to plan ahead. So if I wanted to route a wire from point A to point B, I had to make sure it matched the wire's natural curvature, otherwise it would take a lot of effort to bend it. I cut off one end of each wire to fit the battery terminal. I thought this would loosen the strands of the wire, but it didn't do much and the wire stayed bent. When I crimped the battery terminal I had to make sure it was screwed on properly. So I modeled where the cable should go and used the cable's natural curvature to go where I wanted it to go. I then made sure the battery clip was positioned so that when I connect the cable to the battery it doesn't resist me or try to bend the other way. It's hard to explain in words, but imagine the wire only wants to bend in one direction. If you wanted to bend it the other way, it would require a significant amount of effort and create constant tension. The copper inside looked great. To my inexperienced eyes it looked like pure copper as advertised. The outer sheath of the red cable was thinner on one edge, while the black cable was not. It still looked thick enough, but I wondered if that's why the cables were kinked. Both cables can be seen in the photos. Actually, both black cables are from this purchase. I wrapped the red wire in a foot of shrink wrap to make it look black. As you can see the label has disappeared as it was shrink wrapped. The red wire is from another WindyNation purchase, although it looks short enough to be the red wire from this purchase. This red wire was much more flexible and maybe you can tell from the picture that the wire really likes to be relaxed in an almost straight line. The red wire from this purchase didn't really like that position so I used it to curve around the side as you see in the picture and it ended up working great for me. Sorry for the pictures, Amazon turned them upside down. and toward their original orientation. I can't rotate them to the right orientation.
