Make sure your monitor bezel is at least 1/4 inch from the top

Make sure you have a USB power source. This display does not come with a USB power adapter. One of those old USB-A chargers with 2A output would be perfect. Do not buy a USB-C PD charger - they will not work with this light. across the front of the monitor. While it works great with my old 24" Lenovo monitor, my new Dell P2419H has very thin top and side bezels and the edge covers the notch at the top. The top of the monitor should also be less than 1 inch thick, this shouldn't be an issue for any monitor released in the last 5 years. The first thing you should do is remove the plastic covering the rubber surfaces that come in contact with your monitor. I wondered why it wasn't sitting right until I remembered another reviewer mentioning it. With a plastic cover, it's too slippery and doesn't hold up properly, tilting too far and shining straight into the monitor. Okay that's over, let's see what it is and what it can do. do.This is a light fixture intended to be placed over a monitor. It has 5 brightness settings as well as 3 light temperature settings. I don't have any color temperature instruments, but the designation yellow (around 3000K), warm white (4500K) and cool white (6000K) is probably close enough. Pressing the left button toggles between amber, warm white, cool white, and amber again. A quick press of the right button turns it on, then slowly increases the brightness before returning to the lowest setting. A long press of about 2 seconds turns off the light. The housing is made of aluminum and there is a counterweight on the back of the monitor. The light is embedded in the body and the angle can be adjusted a little. This ensures the light hits your desk and not the monitor or (worse) your eyes. While not as flexible as a table lamp, it has the advantage of taking up space on your desk. The flashlight has a USB-C port on the back and comes with a USB-AC cable. Please note this light DOES NOT WORK with USB-C PD powered. When I try to turn it on with Anker USB C PD with USB CC cable, it won't turn on. While I'm not happy with that, it shouldn't matter much - there are plenty of USB-A chargers out there. Many power strips even have a USB-A power output. Power consumption depends on color temperature and brightness settings. From my measurements: Yellow: 0.07A - 0.62A, 0.35W - 3.1W Warm White: 0.12A - 0.9A, 0.6W - 4.5W Cool White: 0, 07A - 0.6A, 0.35W - 3.0W This is less than the 6W specified by the manufacturer. There may be differences between different devices. During operation, the light stays cool even at the brightest settings, which is probably due to the aluminum housing, which dissipates heat very well. If you turn the light off with the on/off button, it will remember your last setting when you turn it back on. However, if you unplug and plug it back in, it turns on immediately with warm white and medium brightness. So the memory works as long as the power is not interrupted. I don't have the proper tools to check the color rendering index. Please note that unlike what is shown in the product photo, this light (or any other) will NOT improve your monitor's color accuracy. This is solely determined by the quality of your monitor. A higher color rendering index means objects on your desk can appear brighter. I had to move the webcam to the edge of the monitor. Another reviewer mentioned mounting his webcam on a light source. Unfortunately it didn't work for me. Something to consider if your current webcam is on your monitor. Overall I like this light despite some minor issues. He's well built, good looking, does what he's supposed to do, and does it well enough. If it came with a power adapter I would give it 5 stars. As it is, I would say it's 4.5 stars.
