The brochure says the ink will disappear in 30 minutes. An hour later I was still skeptical because he just disappeared. However, the ink was completely gone after a day and I am very happy with it as my kids will not write the same paper in half an hour. So yes, the pen works, just give it a day. Also, I like the exercise it gives my kids. My 3 year old still struggles to hold a pen but it has become great exercise for my preschooler. The colorful pictures are cute and the format is really great. I love that it has a tracing and a do-it-yourself label right after for more independent practice.
