Review on Joystick Logitech G Saitek X56 H.O.T.A.S., black by Mateusz Biakowski ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The goods are normal, money is not wasted!

Visually, the joystick, of course, produces a wow effect. Disadvantages appear during use. And in the process of use, especially in conjunction with a VR helmet, the visual component comes to naught. I used the joystick in E:D and there its functionality turned out to be quite enough. However, if I knew about the shortcomings, I definitely would not have bought it. At least for the price they sell it for. Well, childhood illnesses, problems with ergonomics in such a product should definitely not be.

Pros
  • The abundance of buttons. I was pleased with the wheel on the throttle and analog sticks for the thumbs on the throttle and on the RUS. In terms of functionality, it fully satisfies the needs when using in E: D.
Cons
  • Ergonomics ENG: It's made for a really big hand. And the stand that comes with the kit does not solve the problem. You need to reach everything, especially the block under the thumb. Build Quality: The analog stick on the RUS rubbed against the case inside. It felt tactile. Screwdriver + dremel solve the problem. The effort on the throttle is somehow clumsy. It seems to be tightened, but it loosens up, it seems to be weakened, but after being in a stationary state for a while, it drags on (something seems to be thickening there). Throttle ergonomics: In the 100% position, access to the upper toggle switches is blocked. Everything is somehow small there, it was possible to make it wider / more. Well, a sore subject for Saitek is drivers. Pain and suffering. The declared full analog curve setting in fact applies to all curves, except for analog stick curves for thumbs. They just pulled firewood from the X55 without processing. The application with profiles requires dancing with a tambourine during installation. The software for profiles periodically causes a BSOD. The backlight does not carry any semantic load, and sometimes it becomes different on the RSS and on the throttle.
