This is the first time I've made caramelized sweet toasted pecans on these mats. It can be a gooey mess, but the pecans and baked sugar come off the mats easily. Cleaning was very quick and easy. Next, I roasted beets on top. I was afraid that the baking mats might get dirty. I was pleasantly surprised that the beets were unstained and the carpets were easy to wash again. Very impressive. I would recommend her to a friend. I read some reviews that they smell funny. When I received them I could not detect any odor. Wash them in hot, soapy water just in case. Then before I use them to eat, I put them in a preheated oven at 325 degrees for about 15 minutes. Again, I could not detect any strange smell. As much as I love roasting veggies, these baking mats are becoming one of my favorite kitchen essentials. I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again.
