I've only had them for a few days so I need to check how long they stay there. One strand is on my balcony, the other inside. I really wanted a plugin and this USB plug allowed me to use the USB converters I've been collecting from phones for years! I also only needed 16 feet because 33 feet was just too much for me. I love that you can change the brightness level, love the variety of colors. As other reviewers have said, the color of the button doesn't quite match what the LED looks like, but I really don't care because they're beautiful. I just try different keys until I find the one I want. I love the timer and the fact that it has memory. Once you set it, it will turn on and off at the same time every day until you change it. There is also a button called Smooth. It shimmers very softly in different colors, which I think is wonderful for the holidays. Super satisfied and have already impressed various friends and neighbors with them, but above all they make me happy!
